Rockstar Games has finally released new official images of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition, just hours after launch.
The materials were made public today, after some footage was leaked a few hours ago with the GTA: The Trilogy gameplay video.
The Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition collection will launch digitally tomorrow, on the 11th of November for £54.99. You’ll be able to play them on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, the newer Series X/S consoles, and PC via the Rockstar Games Launcher.
The physical release will be on the 7th of December, followed by versions for iOS and Android in the first half of 2022.
The new shots show the characters and settings of GTA 3, San Andreas and Vice City, highlighting the remastering work carried out by the developers on the textures and shaders, but not only. In fact, we know that the three titles will push up to 4K and 60 fps on next-gen platforms, also introducing improvements on the gameplay front also suggested by some of the images.
New graphic
The most consistent element of surprise, lies in the graphics of the three chapters in this new edition, with a not-so-shocking but still very accurate and extensive re-working, especially if you think about how they appeared in the original versions.
Rebuilding everything from scratch would have been impossible, also considering how some of the largest games of all still remain the same, but even going to touch only some aspects, or working on some adaptations, the result still appears quite different and exciting.
New controls
The changes to the graphics are the only ones that we can already evaluate from the videos and images released by Rockstar Games, as we are waiting to understand the extent of the changes to the controls made in this Definitive Edition to also evaluate the transformation made to the gameplay.
The new gameplay should have a more direct control over the character, able to respond more reactively to commands, as well as better camera management and greater dynamism of the action can result in much deeper changes than purely aesthetic ones from the point of view of actual use.
