Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the curtains of your favourite game streamers?

NickNaks94 is a UK based streamer, who in February this year has partnered up with us at WiseGuys Gaming! To celebrate, we decided to sit down and ask her some questions to get to know her better.

Here is what she had to say!

Introduce yourself

Hi everyone! My name is Nicky (NickNaks94), and I am a Facebook Gaming Partner and UK based female Warzone streamer but play a variety of games offline. I started streaming in April 2021 and haven’t looked back since! I am an animal lover, I have 2 dogs and a frog, I’m 5ft 4 and have size 4 feet.

What is your job?

I work full time for the NHS, but last year found a passion for streaming, since then I have streamed daily and plan to reduce hours at my current full time job to become a full time streamer instead.

What do you enjoy the most about gaming?

I’ve been an avid gamer since a very young age. Gaming has many benefits, I find it sociable, challenging and intriguing, it also allows me to be competitive with myself and others! I’ve always been addicted to gaming, but my newest enjoyment is the social opportunities and being able to meet new people and make friends all across the world.

What is your favourite game? And why?

I always find this question really hard as I have so many favourite games! All that have their own reasons. Some of my all time favourites would have to be: Call of Duty (MW2), Warzone, Grand Theft Auto (San Andreas and Vice City), Assassins Creed Series, Balders Gate, Command and Conquer: Red Alert, The Sims, Crash Bandicoot and many more. I have fond memories of these games, many I have played with family and friends and have early memories since childhood.

When did you decide you wanted to start streaming games?

In April 2021, I was entered into a competitive all female tournament, at this point in time I only gamed casually and had never played in a tournament before, a requirement of the tournament was that all players had to stream. Although I watched many streamers I didn’t really consider streaming myself (I didn’t think I’d be any good at it!) Despite this I competed, and done my very first stream from my Xbox One directly to twitch, with no camera and from my bedroom floor. Immediately after my first stream I realised this was something I really enjoyed and wanted to pursue. I upgraded my equipment and started streaming on Facebook straight away.

What is a random fun fact about you?

I have two degrees, I am a qualified Lacrosse coach and have been coaching sport for over 10 years, I am also an amateur boxer, and I have never broken a bone in my body.

Have you got any funny moments you want to share?

I have loads of memories when thinking of the funniest moments on stream, but two that really stand out. Once I ate the worlds hottest chilli chip on stream… as you can probably guess it was really spicy and I was making very weird noises and facial expressions trying to handle the heat, after an hour I ate a large tub of yoghurt! Everyone else seemed to enjoy watching the pain! Another time, during a game of wordle, I prematurely celebrated my victory and praised my own intelligence, however I actually got the word wrong and chat had to explain what happened!

What is something you would say to someone who wants to become a streamer too?

If it’s something you have been considering doing then…. DO IT! Streaming has been one of the most incredible things that has happened to me. However it isn’t easy, it takes a lot of time, and can take a toll mentally and physically. My advice would be research plenty, begin to network within the streaming community and don’t be scared to ask questions, this will help prepare you for the journey, remember everyone started somewhere.

Are there any exciting things coming up in your channel?

As of August 2022, I am officially going to become a full time streamer! Which means I’ll be able to invest more time into streaming and bring more exciting things to the channel! I also hope that one day I will host a meet and greet for my awesome community!

What is your proudest accomplishment?

From the beginning I had no expectations from streaming, as my channel began to grow I have hit many milestones that I am extremely proud of. Most recent achievements being: Becoming a Facebook Partner, Receiving a Captain’s spot for Spartakus $5K Warzone Tournament, co-streamed with some of Facebook’s biggest streamers that inspire me and that I watched before streaming myself.

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?

It would have to be something to do with travelling and being super adventurous and adrenaline fuelled! I would travel to an exotic place where I could jump in waterfalls, go zip lining, deep sea diving or even skydive! Top destinations I would LOVE to visit would be Thailand, Mexico, Carribean and Vietnam
